One step of Faith Changed My Life
In 2015, I took one small step—a step that didn’t make sense on paper, but made perfect sense in my spirit. I said yes to writing my first book. I didn’t know then that this “yes” would change my entire life.
That book led to the launch of my YouTube channel.
That channel led to masterclasses.
Those classes opened the door to even more content and creativity.
And by 2018, those seeds birthed what is now known as The Butterfly Academy Mentorship Program.
And that was just the beginning.
Let me pause right here and say this — we learned how to build by literallybuilding our church from the inside out, from the ground up, back in 2010. That experience taught us how to build not just a ministry, but how to build with strategy, structure, and sustainability.
From planting our church to helping launch other nonprofit ministries, God was preparing us. What we didn’t know then was that everything we were learning in ministry, we’d eventually use in the marketplace.
Sis — we’re doing ministry outside the four walls of the church now. And yes, we’re making a profit while also creating opportunities for others to earn income too — and in turn, those profits flow right back into the Kingdom and support the church.

The books and YouTube presence opened doors into local schools. What started as a faith move soon became a movement. Seeing the impact, my husband and I launched HE Services LLC—and let me be honest, this wasn’t happening inside the walls of the church… but it was the foundation we learned in the church that taught us how to build from the ground up.
Was it easy? Absolutely not.
Was it worth it? More than you could imagine.
Because every single step of faith stretched us. It grew us. It changed our lives. I must say when I started my business it changed my life.
Now listen… my husband and I are both working our business FULL TIME! 🙌🏾 We’re running 6 departments (aka 6 different businesses), we’ve got a whole team we employ, and we’re walking boldly in our purpose. And guess what? It all started with one decision — one moment where we chose to believe in the power of the vision God gave us.
