You Were Never Meant to Carry It Alone.
Hello you,
One of the greatest misconceptions we carry as women is the belief that strength means carrying everything by ourselves. Somewhere along the journey, many of us learned to smile while we were struggling, to encourage everyone else while our own hearts quietly grew weary, and to convince ourselves that asking for help somehow meant we had failed.
I've come to believe the exact opposite.
Real strength isn't found in pretending you don't need anyone. Real strength is found in having the courage to be seen. It's found in allowing God to place the right people around you, people who will remind you of who you are when you've forgotten, who will pray with you when you don't have the words, and who will celebrate your victories just as deeply as they sit with you through your tears.
That is the kind of sisterhood I have prayed for this retreat to become.
When I think about BAM TransformHER, I don't immediately think about the beautiful location, the workshops, or even the schedule we've prepared. I think about the conversations that happen long after the session has ended. I think about women gathered around a table with coffee growing cold because no one wants to interrupt what God is doing in the room. I think about prayers whispered through tears, laughter that fills every corner, and strangers who leave feeling like lifelong sisters.
There is something beautiful that happens when women stop competing with one another and begin carrying one another. Walls begin to come down. Masks begin to fall away. Hearts begin to heal. In those moments, women discover something they've often been searching for without realizing it. They discover they are not alone.
That is why I often say this is more than a retreat.
It's sisterhood.
It's a place where life changing conversations replace silent struggles. It's where women gather to pray over one another instead of judging one another. It's where friendships are formed that continue long after the weekend ends. It's a safe place to heal, to be seen, to be heard, and to simply be yourself without feeling like you have to earn your place in the room.
Over the years, I've watched women arrive carrying invisible burdens that no one around them knew existed. They came feeling overwhelmed by the demands of work, family, ministry, and life itself. Some questioned whether they still had purpose. Others wondered if healing was even possible after everything they had walked through.
What amazes me every single time is watching those same women leave differently than they arrived.
Not because every problem suddenly disappeared.
But because they remembered they didn't have to carry those burdens by themselves anymore.
There is something deeply healing about sitting beside another woman who looks into your eyes and says, "I've been there too."
There is something powerful about hearing someone pray over your future as though they have known your story for years.
There is something life changing about being surrounded by women who believe in God's promises for your life, even while you're still learning to believe them yourself.
Friend, I don't know what you're carrying today.
Maybe it's disappointment.
Maybe it's grief.
Maybe it's the pressure of trying to be everything for everyone.
Maybe it's the quiet exhaustion that comes from constantly pouring into others while leaving nothing for yourself.
Whatever it is, I want you to know you were never created to carry it alone.
God designed us for community. He created us to strengthen one another, to encourage one another, and to remind each other that hope is never out of reach. Sometimes His greatest gift isn't removing the burden immediately. Sometimes it's placing faithful women beside us who help us carry it.
That is my prayer for every woman who joins me this October in Gulf Shores.
I pray you experience the kind of conversations that stay with you long after you return home. I pray you receive prayer that strengthens your faith, friendships that continue beyond the weekend, and the confidence to step boldly into everything God has prepared for your future. More than anything, I pray you leave knowing that you belong, that you are deeply loved, and that there is still more in you than you have yet discovered.
Only eleven women will share this experience together, and I believe every seat has been prepared with purpose.
If you've been waiting for a sign, perhaps this is it.
Say yes to sisterhood.
Say yes to healing.
Say yes to becoming the woman God has always seen in you.
I'd be honored to welcome you.
