The Environment Matters More Than You Think
Hey Beautiful,
Recently, I've been spending time reflecting on something that has shaped almost every significant season of growth in my life, and the more I think about it, the more I realize how often we overlook its impact.
Environment.
Not just our physical environment, but the atmosphere surrounding our lives. The people we allow access to us. The conversations we engage in. The voices we listen to. The thoughts we entertain. The spaces where we spend our time. All of these things have a way of influencing who we become, often more than we realize.
When I look back over my own journey, I can clearly see that some of the greatest transformations in my life didn't begin with a new strategy, a new opportunity, or even a new goal. They began when God changed my environment.
There were seasons when I felt stuck, frustrated, and uncertain about what was next. I knew there was more inside of me. I knew God was calling me to grow. I knew I wasn't created to remain where I was. Yet despite all my effort, I couldn't seem to gain the momentum I needed.
What I eventually discovered was that growth isn't always about trying harder. Sometimes it's about planting yourself in healthier soil.
A seed can have everything it needs to become something beautiful. The potential is already there. The purpose is already there. The promise is already there. But if it's planted in an environment that doesn't support its growth, it struggles to flourish.
The same is true for us.
I believe many women are carrying gifts, talents, ideas, businesses, ministries, and dreams that God has placed inside of them. Yet they find themselves exhausted, discouraged, and wondering why they aren't growing the way they hoped. Sometimes the issue isn't a lack of ability. Sometimes it's the environment.
I've learned that you cannot consistently surround yourself with negativity and expect to remain positive. You cannot continue pouring into everyone else while neglecting your own growth and expect to stay full. You cannot remain in the same atmosphere that depleted you and expect to experience a different outcome.
Growth requires intentionality.
Growth requires stewardship.
Growth requires environments that nourish the woman you're becoming rather than reinforce the woman you've outgrown.
One of the most valuable lessons I've learned over the years is that every new season requires a different version of you. And every new version of you requires a different environment.
The woman God is calling you to become may need space to think differently.
She may need relationships that challenge her to grow.
She may need time away from the noise.
She may need opportunities to heal, reflect, learn, and dream again.
She may need to be reminded that her purpose still matters.
I think that's why Jesus often withdrew from the crowds. Before major decisions, before miracles, before significant moments in His ministry, He intentionally created space to hear from His Father. He understood something many of us forget: environment matters.
Sometimes the breakthrough we're praying for isn't another answer. Sometimes it's a different atmosphere.
As I prepare for the BAM TransformHER Retreat, I find myself praying for the women who will be in the room this October. I pray for the conversations that will happen around the table. I pray for the tears that will be released, the laughter that will be shared, the clarity that will come, and the healing that will begin. Most of all, I pray that every woman who attends leaves with a renewed sense of purpose and a deeper understanding of who God has called her to be.
That's why we're intentionally keeping this retreat intimate. Only 11 women will gather together in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Not because bigger isn't possible, but because transformation often happens best in environments where women feel safe enough to be seen, heard, supported, and challenged to grow.
If you've been feeling a gentle tug in your spirit that it's time to invest in yourself, your healing, your growth, and your next chapter, I encourage you to learn more about the BAM TransformHER Retreat and prayerfully consider whether this experience is for you.

As you move through the rest of your week, I want to leave you with a question to reflect on:
Is your current environment helping you become the woman God is calling you to be?
Or is it keeping you connected to a version of yourself that you've already outgrown?
Take a moment to think about it. The answer may reveal more than you realize.
