Marriage Is Ministry: Stewarding the Covenant God Gave You

February 09, 20262 min read

Hello,

This week, I want to slow us down for a moment and remind you of something we don’t say, or live out, often enough:

Marriage is ministry.

Not the kind of ministry that’s seen on a stage or applauded by people, but the quiet, daily kind. The kind that happens behind closed doors, in real conversations, hard moments, forgiveness, prayer, and intentional love. The kind that requires patience, humility, and a willingness to grow together, not just stay together.

Marriage is ministry.

Before titles.
Before platforms.
Before businesses, callings, or assignments…

Marriage is one of the most sacred trusts God gives. And like every ministry, it requires stewardship, intentionality, and care.

So many couples aren’t struggling because they don’t love each other. They’re struggling because they were never taught how to minister to one another. Love opens the door, but wisdom sustains the covenant.

Marriage as ministry looks like this:

• Creating space for honest, courageous conversations
• Learning to resolve conflict without damaging connection
• Covering one another in prayer, not just emotion
• Choosing alignment over assumptions
• Protecting unity with humility and understanding

Over the years, we’ve learned this truth:
Strong marriages aren’t built quickly, they’re built intentionally.
Through clarity.
Through consistency.
Through commitment.

You don’t have to be perfect to build something lasting, but you do have to be intentional.

That’s exactly why we created resources like Marriage Survival Guide. Not as a quick fix, but as a foundation. A place to return when emotions run high, clarity feels distant, or your marriage needs to be steadied with truth, tools, and perspective.

So this week, I invite you to pause and reflect:

How am I stewarding the marriage God entrusted to me?

Cover your covenant.
Minister to your marriage.
Build what will last.

Your Sister in Christ, Love & Prosperity,
Tonya Harden
