Celebrating National Black Business Month: From Faith to Legacy
This Month We Celebrate National Black Business Month
If someone had told me years ago that stepping out in business would completely shift the trajectory of my life, I probably would’ve laughed and said, “Not me.”
But if you follow me on YouTube, you already know—I don’t shy away from sharing the truth of our journey: from being homeless to now stewarding a 7-figure company.
Back in 2020, after being laid off from a virtual job, I heard God so clearly whisper, “It had to happen… because you and your husband are about to birth a business that will become a company.” That word became our anchor when fear and uncertainty tried to drown us.
And truthfully, this wasn’t new territory. We’d been planting and building from the ground up for years: New Destiny Church, Women of Destiny, SJCOC Outreach Game Changer, and the BAM Program. Every single time, I was terrified—and every single time, God required me to lean harder on faith than on what I could see.
But when it came to launching Harden Enterprise Services LLC, my husband and I were trembling. We only had a mustard seed of faith. I remember 2014 like it was yesterday—we were pastors of a church, yet homeless because of poor financial stewardship. That season broke us, but it also birthed a vow: Never again.
So in 2019, when God told us to downsize into an apartment—a lifestyle our children had never experienced—we told them, “We’re going to live like no one else, so later we can live like no one else.” And right in the middle of that transition, God said, “Start the business.”
I’ll never forget being on my last job, and God challenged me: “Sow where you want to go.” I gave my entire first paycheck to the ministry. It was one of the scariest faith moves of my life—but that seed unlocked doors I never could’ve imagined.
And here we are today:
✨ Harden Enterprise Services LLC has 6 departments.
✨ We employ 11+ incredible team members.
✨ We steward multiple subcontracts and partnerships.
✨ We are a Black-owned, Veteran-owned company with certifications that open doors we once thought were sealed shut.
We are living proof that faith, obedience, and perseverance truly pay off. Our network has become our net worth, and God continues to send mentors, coaches, and divine connections to help us trailblaze forward.
So this National Black Business Month, I celebrate Harden Enterprise Services LLC—not just for what it has done for us, but for the opportunities it has created for others.
Our mission remains clear: to make an impact, leave a legacy, and lift others as we climb.
To every Black-owned business out there: keep pushing, keep building, and keep trusting God. You are shifting generations. You are the evidence. You are the legacy.
Your Sister in Life, Love, Prosperity,
Tonya Harden
